Spike-
It's Keth. I know things got rough during our last job, but you would be dead if I hadn't cut off your hand! So get over it, and let's get back to what we're good at. When we team up, things get done (usually). I need your help. There is someone new hunting my friends and I. It is one that you would also be glad to be rid of, as I imagine he is taking business away from the Brawlers.
Also, I have payment that you, in particular, will want. Where and when can we meet?
-Keth
Keth,
Go fuck yourself.

The Story of the First Druid, as translated from Sylvan by Donal the Druid.
In ancient days, after the greater races had been given their purpose, a great call echoed out across the land. It was the voice of the Fae King, and it is said that no creature could escape the call. There were members of the greater races, humans, dwarves, elves, and orcs, who felt drawn to the call. All had heard the sound but very few felt it resonate within them, felt drawn to its source. Slowly, over hill and branch they travelled to the court of the Fae King. When they arrived, one by one, they were met by Corendal. He told each of them the same thing.
“I am Corendal, the first of our kind. I was here when the great call rang out to the heavens, and it changed me. So too shall it change you, my kin. For while we are not of the same blood, we are of the same spirit, and the Fae King knows that. You have come here as part of his design. Together we shall serve at the feet of the Fae King and we shall spread the teachings we learn from him across the land.”
Corendal was the first to fully change, just as he was the first to truly understand the teachings of the Fae King. What he had seen, when the king had called, had changed him so profoundly that he seemed barely to be of the greater races at all. It is said that most could no longer tell what race he was before the change as he was the most pure of the sylvan. The Fae King taught him secrets and he passed them on to the other disciples who passed them on to the people of the realm.
When the Fae left this world, Corendal went with them. Months passed and the Sylvan turned to despair. They were horrified that their Gods had abandoned them and they no longer seemed to have a place in the world. In the eve of the great harvest they found themselves where it had all began, sitting at the site of the Fae King’s court. Waiting for something, and nothing. With a flash of light Corendal appeared again to them. Older, wizend.
“Brothers and Sisters, fear not. No longer do we have the Fae to guide us, but what they have left for is valuable beyond compare. This world, which was once theirs to control, has been left to us. We will always have the teachings they gave us. We will always have the gifts they bestowed. But now they have given us something even more valuable. Our future. It is ours to control.”
And it was from that group of Sylvan that Corendal named the first Archdruids. And the great grove was built from the place where the Fae King once sat. Soon people began to appear in droves to learn the ways of Nature. And the Sylvan were happy to teach them. And Corendal happiest of all.
